Let Go, Customers Control Your Brand

It’s budgeting season for most marketers and you can almost feel the “Multi-Channel Marketing Stress” (MCMS) in the air. How many of you have to walk into a boardroom and beg for funding for Facebook, Twitter or more advanced email solutions? It would be a whole lot easier if more CEOs embraced the power of integrated marketing, but who can blame them when we see our customers controlling our brands online?

Today’s consumers know they have a public soap box to stand on and rave about your brand or complain about it – and sometimes all at the same time. This makes funding new media a challenge, but a challenge every marketer should embrace.
